Engineering Design Expo 2019

Date:

Friday, June 7, 2019 - 1:30pm to 5:00pm

Location:

Campbell Hall

The Capstone Design Project program offers senior undergraduates throughout the College of Engineering the opportunity to work in teams to solve real-world problems over the course of their senior year at UCSB. Many of these projects are developed in collaboration with industry partners or UCSB research labs. At our Engineering Design Expo (EDx) in June, the student teams all present and demo their final products and showcase their creativity and hard work. A panel of judges composed of Faculty and Industry Leaders evaluate the projects and select top teams for awards. Information about each of the projects can be found here.

Event Details for Friday, June 7, 2019:

1:30-4:00pm - Poster and Demo Session

Student teams from Mechanical, Electrical and Computer Engineering will be displaying posters and presenting final prototypes of their full year senior design projects. During this time, a panel of judges will be reviewing all the projects and selecting award winners. Attendees are all invited to explore the various projects, speak to the students, and enjoy some complementary refreshments.

4:00-5:00pm - Engineering Design Showcase

This exciting on-stage event in Campbell Hall will have a TED talk feel. Multidisciplinary design teams will present their work products. Find out who won the design competition and catch a performance of dancing robots that were developed by our freshmen engineers in conjunction with Isla Vista Elementary School students.
