Prof. Francesco Bullo and collaborators win SIAG/CST Best SICON Paper Prize
Professor Francesco Bullo and his collaborators Ruggero Carli (University of Padova, Italy) and Paolo Frasca (University of Twente, Netherlands) have been awarded the 2013 SIAG/CST Best SICON Paper Prize by the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics for the article “Gossip Coverage Control for Robotic Networks: Dynamical Systems on the Space of Partitions,” SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization, 50(1):419-447, 2012.
The article was written while Professors Carli and Frasca were postdoctoral scientists working in Dr Bullo's group at UCSB. The prize citation reads: “This paper tackles robotic network deployment with minimal communication combining modeling over the space of partitions, infinite-dimensional metric spaces, and invariance principles under persistent switching.”
Professor Ruggero Carli will present the paper as a short plenary lecture at the upcoming SIAM Conference on Control and its Applications on July 7-10, 2013, in San Diego.
