Professor Francesco Bullo has received the 2016 Outstanding Paper Award for the IEEE Transactions on Control of Network Systems for the work “Controllability Metrics, Limitations and Algorithms for Complex Networks”, by F. Pasqualetti, S. Zampieri and F. Bullo. IEEE Transactions on Control of Network Systems, Vol. 1, No. 1, pages 40-52, March 2014. Prof. Bullo collaborated on this paper with Prof. Fabio Pasqualetti (ME PhD '12, currently at UC Riverside), and with Professor Sandro Zampieri (University of Padova, Italy, and UCSB Visiting Professor during Fall '09 and Spring '13). This award is given for a paper published during the two calendar years preceding the year of the award and is based on originality, potential impact on the foundations of network systems, importance and practical significance in applications, and clarity.
