ME PhD student John Simpson-Porco and Professor Francesco Bullo win 2014 Automatica Best Paper Award

Professor Francesco Bullo's article on "Synchronization and Power Sharing for Droop-Controlled Inverters in Islanded Microgrids" wins the 2014 IFAC Automatica Best Paper Award in the category "Best Application Paper 2011-2014".

The paper's co-authors are John W. Simpson-Porco (current ME PhD student) and Florian Dorfler (ME PhD '13, now Assistant Professor at ETH Zurich).

The award is issued every three years for the best paper in the journal "Automatica" - in three categories (survey, theory, application). The award ceremony took place on August 29, 2014, in Capetown.  Congratulations!
