Professor Tom Soh has been awarded a Humboldt Research Fellowship for Experienced Researchers by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation which promotes academic cooperation between excellent scientists and scholars from around the world.
Professor Carl Meinhart has been elected to Fellowship in the American Physical
Society for contributions to the seminal developments of
micron resolution particle image velocimetry and free-surface microfluidics for
surface enhanced Raman scattering technology, and for providing deeper
understanding of the flow of fluids over surfaces in the extremes of microscopic
slip and high Reynolds number turbulence.
Professor Rouslan Krechetnikov's elegant work on fluid mechanics, oscillations and coffee cups is featured in the December issue of Scientific American. For readers with a subscription, the article can be found at http://dx.doi.org/10.1038/scientificamerican1211-22b
