Dr. Hansen leads the Technology Management program and is Co-director of the Graduate Program in Management Practice. He is an expert in the fields of corporate strategy and entrepreneurship. He earned his MBA and PhD from the University of Michigan, received the “Outstanding Research Award” from the Strategic Management Society, publishes in leading management and entrepreneurship journals, was recognized by Business Week Magazine as one of the country’s leading academics, and has won numerous teaching awards from students and executives. At the University of Washington, Dr. Hansen led numerous programs for the School of Business, raising the ranking for the entrepreneurship program to 11th in the US. Dr. Hansen has served on the boards of early stage companies, consulted with Microsoft, Boeing, E&Y, and other leading companies, served as Vice President for a an early stage IPO company, held leadership positions in the Office of the Secretary, Department of Commerce and the Cost of Living Council, and was selected as “E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year”.
